From heights, hazy in the cloudy night
I try to fathom and find the lighted star.
Could it be twinkling, awaiting me, beyond the veil,
To leave me suffering here, away from sight?
Your light comes not through the blotted screen,
I peer and peer but you I cannot see.
I shoot arrows of love at the clouds, they move,
But to find you, tear-filled, drenching star.
Wipe away the tears of your befuddled mind,
Wipe away the façade of a painted face –
Be yourself, though clouds would come,
For deep within, my love, you are that star.
